BOD News:

Lakeland Little League held its first board meeting of the new year on Thursday January 24th at Gagliardi Law Offices. The meeting covered topics of interest regarding policy that included but was not limited to player remediation and post draft registration policies. All motions regarding official language of these proposed regulations was unanimously approved by board members and is now official league policy. For full details on these regulations you can visit Lakeland Little League's website. Regulations can be found under the FAQ tab by clicking on “Additional Rules and Regulations”.

ATV Needed

Addressed during  open forum was the need for new ATV equipment to replace antiquated and or broken field maintenance equipment. If you have an ATV that you you no longer need and would like to see put to good use please email  Lakeland Little League at [email protected].

Intermediate Division to Merge with The Show

Also addressed during this meeting was the merge of the Intermediate Division with The Show. The Intermediate Division was created three years ago in response to Williamsport's decision to change DOB eligibility for athletes aged thirteen and up. The result of the decision created an age “bubble” in which athletes who were 13 at the time of the decision would technically lose a year of eligible play. In order to ensure that Williamsport's decision did not adversely impact Lakeland's athletes the Intermediate Division was created. In addition to these athletes aging out, therefore making the need for the Intermediate division obsolete, Williamsport has adopted a more friendly position on 50/70 baseball. This new position on 50/70 baseball lent itself to further obsolescence of the intermediate division. In a unanimous decision the board decided that a merge of the Intermediate Division and The Show would best serve our athletes. Parents who registered their child for the Intermediate Division can expect to have their registration transferred at no cost and should receive an email confirming this transfer in the near future. Parents of Intermediate Division  registrants can also expect the same level of play found in the Intermediate Division as the two divisions are merging as opposed to disbanding.
